Conie family c.1908
I have traced my immediate family tree back to James Conie born abt 1807 and these are his descendants.
The photograph below shows my grandfather, Alfred, with his three brothers, mother , father and grandmother. Probably taken in about 1908 outside the family home in Flore, Northants. The two elder brothers are wearing the uniform of the Royal Horse Artillery.
Standing: Harry - Alfred - Albert - Arthur
Sitting: Thomas - Sarah Dicks - Mary Ann
Thomas is the son of Robert Conie who was the eldest son of James and Mary.
History of the Conie/Coney family
This is a family history of the British branch of the family based on information that I have collected. It comes from a number of sources, not all of which have been cross checked, so any corrections are welcome! There are various derivatives of the name, the main ones being CONEY, CONY, CONNEY and CONYE. The family originally came to this country with Queen Isabell in the early 1300s and settled in Lincolnshire.
